The Venture Impact Awards

The Venture Impact Awards (VIA) was founded in 2020 amidst the global pandemic and financial turmoil. The vision is to support Greece’s brightest and most talented teams, helping them create ventures that are scalable, sustainable, and able to demonstrate not just a quick return on the investment but also a broader impact on the society at large.

Introduction

In October 2020, our Foundation joined hands with The Hellenic Initiative (THI) to launch this new project, the Venture Impact Awards (VIA).

The VIA will act as a tool that promotes early-stage investing designed to help companies produce returns while having a measurable social impact.

The focus is in various business sectors that Greece can offer a strong value proposition like Software & Deep Tech, Healthcare& Life Sciences, Agro & Food, Tourism & Real Estate.

About the Awards

The VIA will initially employ a number of cash prizes valued at $250k in total.

Award winners will range according to the quality of the applications received and will be selected based not only on their ability to generate financial returns but also on how they address critical markets and how they solve a range of social and environmental problems.

Applicants are currently submitting their proposals and the ones meeting the eligibility criteria will pass on the next phase being reviewed by a group of judges. During a special ceremony, winners will be announced and presented with their awards.

The 2020 VIA winners’ announcement will be held on December 17, 2020.
