Higgs
HIGGS was founded in 2015 with the mission to holistically support a growing NPO/Social Entrepreneurship ecosystem within Greece. Guided by values such as solidarity, trust and cooperation, they provide capacity building, trainings, mentoring, consulting, networking and events to these organizations.
Introduction
Following the excellent collaboration of 2020, our Foundation continues the funding to HIGGS in 2021, this time to support two of their initiatives; the Green Ideas Greece - 2021 Competition and the Green & Social Entrepreneurship Incubator Program. HIGGS (Higher Incubator Giving Growth & Sustainability) offers its services to all Greek NPOs and Social Enterprises with no limitation to certain scope. In these specific projects, a focus is given to impact-driven initiatives in the field of environmental and social sustainability.
Utilization of donation
HIGGS is running the Green Ideas Greece Competition for a second year in a row. The purpose is to promote early-stage ideas to pitch their projects in a national level. Three winning ideas will receive a cash prize and mentorship, and will participate in the 2021 Regional Balkan Green Ideas Competition for a chance to win an additional cash prize. The Green Ideas Greece 2021 will take place this spring.
Participants are part of a growing sub-ecosystem consisted of social initiatives between the traditional non-profit and entrepreneurial spectrum; on the one hand, non-profits that enclose significant revenue generation potential, while on the other, entrepreneurs who are directing their efforts towards a stronger focus on positive social and/or environmental impact.
The Green & Social Entrepreneurship Incubator Program aims at supporting this trend and provide the necessary structures for its further growth. Hence, it will not only serve the winning teams of the Green Ideas Greece - 2021 Competition but also it will enhance the highlighted trend through visibility and dissemination actions.
Our Foundation will fund the first 9-months cycle of this new Incubator Program for 5 selected organizations (that have primarily taken part in the Green Ideas Greece – 2021 Competition), starting in September 2021 up to June 2022. The program is especially designed for the targeted group. It will provide them with all the necessary skills, tools, knowledge and support, in order to operate effectively to the full of their capacity and maximize their impact as well as their sustainability.
